Loft Insulation

Steb By Step

Installing loft insulationHaving loft insulation installed couldn´t be easier!

It´s a simple process and is normally completed within 1 to 3 hours, without damage or mess to your property.

Assessment

Before the installation, we will undertake a free no obligation suitability assessment of your property to confirm that it is suitable for insulation. Click here to apply for yours.

During the assessment your assessor will identify if fixed boarding or personal belongings in the loft will have any implications on the installation process and where necessary require chargeable labour at an additional cost payable by you

Installation

Prior to installation it is your responsibility to remove any stored personal belongings from your loft.

The installer will lay the new insulation and where necessary over the top of any existing insulation. The insulation will be laid to allow a gap up to the eaves in order to allow ventilation into the roof space and laid between the joists with additional layers cross-laid at right angles to ensure there are no gaps at the top of the joists.

If additional ventilation is required your assessor will identify this during the assessment stage.

The back of the loft hatch will be insulated up to the same depth as the loft insulation. The hatch insulation will be covered in plastic and secured to the hatch. Where possible, draught proofing will be fitted around the edge of the loft hatch.

Cold water tanks and water pipes will be checked by the installers to ensure that they meet current insulation requirements. Where necessary additional tank and pipe insulation will be fitted.

Once all of the work is complete the installers will remove any surplus debris.
